EMPIRE, Mich. (AP) – Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is offering new summer bike tours focusing on the effects of invasive species.

Interpretive Park Ranger Ryan Locke of Spring Lake will lead the two-hour rides. They’re part of educational efforts at the National Lakeshore, which is headquartered at Empire in Michigan’s northwestern Lower Peninsula.

Locke has led other bike tours at the lakeshore for the past two summers.

The tours start this week and are free with admission to the lakeshore. One called “Discovering the Changing
